Helping You Achieve Optimal Health (TM)

Available Techniques

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage applies holistic and practical applications of pressure, touch, and movement on the skin and soft tissues of the body. Swedish Massage promotes a sense of health, wholeness, and well-being by:

  • relaxing or rejuvenating muscles
  • enhancing the recovery process from illness or injury
  • relieving stress and anxiety
  • improving circulation, digestion and the immune system
  • reducing muscle soreness, stiffness, and spasms

Active Isolated Stretching

Aaron Mattes, RKT, LMT, developed a therapeutic treatment that restores muscles and connective tissues - tendons, ligaments, joints, fascia, and even vertebrae. Clients take an active role during AIS sessions by isolating and stretching specific muscles and muscle groups. Coupled with proper breathing techniques and gentle assistance, you can expect to:

  • enhance athletic performance
  • improve flow of blood, lymph, oxygen, and nutrients
  • increase daily activities
  • reduce the risk of injury of recurring injury
  • increase range of motion and decrease pain

TMJ Massage

TMJ Massage offers relief for people with lingering, often excruciating symptoms of jaw "popping", ringing in the ears, headaches, and chewing difficulties. Sterile gloves provide the protection needed to directly affect the concerned muscles inside the mouth. Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, and Acupressure may be used on the joint's supporting structures in addition to massage.

A prescription is required before TMJ massage can be performed.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is designed for athletes and highly active people. While engaging in sports is very rewarding, it can be extremely stressful on the body - often leading to both short term and long term injuries. Sports Massage is not the same as "deep tissue" massage. Although my work is often considered "medium to deep pressure", the depth and speed of therapeutic work should really be based on the area, the cause, and on pain tolerance. This session will blend Swedish massage techniques, trigger point therapy, and active or passive stretching in order to:

  • increase flexibility
  • enhance athletic performance
  • reduce risk of injury, swelling, and pain
  • assist in a rapid recovery process
  • help prolong a sports career

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy focuses on releasing "trigger points" in your body. Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle rather than along the energy pathways of the body. These "knots" are built up throughout an individual's life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress. Pressure is applied through a variety of techniques, and often from different angles, in order to reduce or eliminate your trigger points. Although this process can be painful at times, the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is a series of gentle yet powerful techniques that affect the craniosacral system. The craniosacral system is an enclosed hydraulic system that surrounds and protects the brain, bones of the skull, spinal cord, and sacrum. A very light pressure is used to enhance the flow of this cerebrospinal fluid. Clients may choose to remain fully clothed during this session. Craniosacral Therapy:

  • naturally releases the effects of stress
  • lessens pressure on the brain and spinal cord
  • corrects imbalances in the flow of cerebralspinal fluid
